'Invitation' Text using ZIG Brushables
By Lindsay Smith

ZIG Brushables are great for all your Brush Lettering and to create various decorative motifs such as flowers, candles and even carrots!  With its flexible two-toned tips, you can create some endless projects.

Instructions

1.Take a selection of your ZIG Brushable pens and remember to work with the side of the tip where you can create broad and fine lines, remember there is no need to be too cautious feel free to apply as much pressure to the tip as you like.

2.Practise using the pens by creating a flicking action before doing your lettering.

  1. 3.Use the lighter tip for your base lettering and accent off the rest of your lettering using the darker tip end.

Tip: The Brushables flexible two-tone tips are fantastic for your rubber stamping ideas. The tips easily glide along the surface of the stamp and enable you to create stamping projects using more than one colour as the individual pen enables you to eliminate 'one colour' stamp pads and provides more flexibility to your projects.

Happy Valentine's Day using the ZIG Calligraphy Blending Collection

By Lindsay Smith

What You Need For This Project!

ZIG Calligraphy Blending Collection Set Heart and Flush

  • Kuretake Pink Self-Adhesive Gems
  • Selection of Kuretake Cardstock

 ZIG 2 Way Glue

Instructions

  1. 1. Trim both your 12”x12” Papers to the appropriate size to fit your cardstock.  Do not stick to the card stock at this stage.

  2. 2.Take the smaller tip end of the MS3400/025 from the Heart set and write out your ‘Happy Valentines Day’ message in the centre of your ready cut Paper.  Make sure you hold the pen at a 30 degree angle for this style of Calligraphy writing.

  3. 3.From the Heart set, take MS3400/208 and 026 and blend the darker 5.0mm tip to the lighter 5.0mm tip.  To do this, hold the darker pen directly over the lighter tip, with both tips slightly touching without applying any pressure and watch how the darker ink flows directly into the other pen.  This will only need to be done for a few seconds.  You can either blend the colour at the tip ends or in the centre of the pen.

  4. 4.To create your two-toned flowers, hold the pen at a 45 degree angle and create an ‘s’ shape.  Move your paper round to create each petal to make your flower – you do not need to move your wrist when doing this.

  5. 5.Once your flowers have been complete, use the finer tip of MS3400/208 to create your smaller flowers.

  6. 6.To create the border use MS3400/401 from your Flush set to create your border.

  7. 7.Once you are happy with design, mount your design to the darker trimmed paper and apply to your card using ZIG 2 Way Glue
  8. To finish off your card, take the Kuretake Pink Self-Adhesive Gem Accent Stickers and place in the centre of your larger flowers.
